Marsa Alam

Does anyone out there have experience of freediving deep anywhere near Marsa Alam? We are thinking of going out there for a trip but need to be sure we can get around 60m of sheltered depth, preferably accessible direct from shore without being too rough...

anyone know a spot?

The best spot for sheltered freediving around 60m in Mersa Allam would definitely be at Untunduba reef or Dolphin reef which is about 20min by boat from shore. Your best bet would be to contact Zizo at 0105056644 who can arrange logistics.

Oh, and no shore diving in Mersa Alam is deep enough. Sorry!

sam, not only is the blue hole accessible from shore and deep, it is also protected fromm surf/swells to a great degree. ive been diving all over th red sea and have not seeen a place with similar conditions, except maybe some diving spots in ras mohammed, but then again attaching lines there is a different story most of the coast starting marsa allam and going further south has very limited beach access (mostly coral) and the weather conditions are generally rougher than dahab...more open sea, higher swells

thanks guys - we are looking for an alternative to the Blue Hole - too many freedivers up there these days! I have an eye on a spot in Sharm now....
