Ive got a few questions if anyone would be willing to help out. I picked up a used AB Biller 35 recently and after trying it out today, only got about a 2-3 foot shot range before the shaft drops like a rock. The bands that it came with are 15mm( i think?) ambers (they look fairly worn, but not rotted or anything), but they dont feel like they give the shot any power, or feel like they take any effort to load either. Here's what I DO know.
1) Guns this short arent really long range guns. 2) Minimum band length depends upon some formula having to do with the wall thickness and total diameter? Could I ostensibly put some newer, thicker or shorter rubbers on and achieve at least some degree of range increase? thanks, i appreciate any feedback. |

Am I correct to assume the guns 35in, being about 850mm. You should be getting about a 2m shot accurate range on this gun. I think a rubber replacement is in order, replace the existing ones with new 16mm bands and you should be sorted

Yea it will but a 8mm shaft is very heavy for such a small gun, perhaps its made for the ling cod I hear about so often on these forums. If you keep the 8mm shaft Id perhaps try single 18mm instead of a 16mm band

Biller equips the "36" with two, 9/16 bands with 14 1/2 inch length. If you need more range than available with Biller rubber, drop a line to "internet spearguns" (Bill Kitto). They will ship you bulk rubber for $2/foot. Cut the lengths that you need and transfer the wishbones. Tie off the wishbones ("bridles") with thin nylon cord using a strangle knot. Range of the gun will be 6-8 feet measured from the outstretched fist.

i had the same problem when i got a biller 32. i replaced the bands with slightly longer 16' x 5/8"(16mm) bands and put a single flopper tip on it. the big rotating double flopper tip that was on it was slowing it down a lot and affecting penetration. it works great right now, i have great range with it, can kill easily at 9-12 feet.
