experience with open-heel bi-fins?

Anyone use open-heel bi-fins? How is the comfort level over like an one hour period?

Leaderfins and Waterway sell "lifesaving" fins that I am particularly interested in for work.

The pockets on the Waterway fins look like their monofin pockets, but just for one foot at a time.

To those that may have used these kind of footpockets, do you have the same arch pain that you get from using an open heel mono?

Re: experience with open-heel bi-fins?

They are quite comfortable (I have the older waterway bi-fins long blade) but after about 30-40 min, my feet get tingly. Definitely better without socks. I do like how easily they move through the water. The fin itself could be more solid, though. They cut it in two places lengthwise, perhaps to create a "spoon" effect. They've been used several times for safety diving to 20-25m at various competitions by myself and Eric with no complaints. Wearing other bi fins by comparison feels sluggish and high drag, except the super high end carbon fins (Falcon 40s...).
