Here in the ne usa we have a lot of black locust about. Got a high silica content, and i've heard it behaves like teak. Very dense though. Has anyone ever seen a gun fashioned from locust?

Also , any tips on laminating in different [perhaps lighter species] to mess with the bouyancy.

This would be my first homedone speargun.
