Just sharing some pictures of my float I rigged up this past month. I'm going to be changing it a lot soon though. basically just imagine the same thing minus the dive bag and plus a place to store two spearguns and a little box for junk.

Wouldnt the speartip need a little more line for it to work properly?
Im not sure as i have not used one, but just asking

Well, since I took those pictures I've changed the tip out for one that is the same but shorter. My accuracy and range improved considerably.
I suppose if I were going for some monster fish I would braid a longer piece of line, but all it has to do is detach from the end of the spear to keep the fish from bending it up. The only thing I don't like is that the fish tear them selves to shreds if you don't get a head shot. I think I lost 1/4 of a fillet to a crazy yellow jack once.

Next thing you have to do is get rid of that stupid stock biller slide ring assembly. I just changed mine out and got a more streamline spear and accuracy and speed are much better. They sell low profile slide rings which are a lot better. I also got rid of the metal spacer that fits into the muzzle, took the muzzle off the gun and placed it in boiling water and then used some locking pliers to bend the muzzle tighter. End result is a big improvement over the stock biller setup. But just the slide ring will help a lot. Newport Dive Center sells them online.

Interesting. i like the looks of it. Too bad i just ordered a ton of stuff from Scubasworld. I'll remember that though.
Obviously the best would be to just get rid of the slider. Has anyone here ever tried drilling a hole in their shaft? Or do you have to have fins to have that sort of set up?

I've looked into the drilling of the hole option. You don't have to have fins on the spear to do it. It's a good way to transform a biller or jbl into a faster shooting more accurate gun. I had planned to do that to my biller but had some trouble trying to figure out how to keep the spear firmly in place at the tip of the muzzle without risking tangling the line up during the shot. I eventually just went with the low profile slide ring instead. Hopefully someone at biller will make an interchangeable muzzle that is completely open and you can rig up just like a riffe. I thought about modifying the current biller muzzle to do this but the risk of degrading the structural integrity of it by cutting away too much of the plastic prevented me from doing that. The thought of the muzzle snapping which I had a spear with 2 5/8" bands loaded put a damper on my do it yourself attitude. There are some interesting modifications for the billers on this post.
