Re: Making a tuna foat boogie bord style

A boogie float may be out of it's league in big tuna territory but who knows. I have a boogie float and made a few tweaks similar to this:

^--- that is bluewaterkiller's a member on here. On mine I used an extra noodle and made it as if it were one piece. The main issue if used on big game such as tuna is how strong the anchor that holds your float line to the boogie will be. Ive tested it out and it takes a considerable amount of force but Ive broken it myself and then bye bye fish and gun. If you reinforce that it could make the float more reliable and put up with serious strain. Ive tangled with the thought of stacking two boards and binding them together to add more buoyancy as well, as it is one boogie is quite buoyant. Will the atmospheres affect the buoyancy of the boogie if it descends deep enough? Something to think about.

There are many ways to modify anything to work, just gotta be creative. Hopefully someone else on here chimes in

I would also suggest a long stretch of rubber tubing to avoid the shock placed on the boogie board as this alone could rip out the line as the Tuna bolts for the depths.
