Hey guys I am kind of stuck here and am not shure what to do. I have a vecta 160 carbon and have had lots of problems with accuracy. The gun would float with the shaft in so I added more weight to the muzzel to make it sink with shaft in and it still shot poorly but a bit better . I have a 17.5 mm band on it now with a 7mm shaft it shoots its best like this but its a bit weak. I have tried a 21mm band on it the speed was good but the accuracy was off so I tried a 19mm band and this too was like the 21mm band. All this has been with a 7mm shaft. I am now starting to think that I should cut it down a bit but before I slice and dice I would like to hear your guys wisdom in this matter. thanks

i would imagine a 160 gun would be a blue water/big game gun, so should be setup with 2x16mm rubbers and maybe a 7.5-8mm spear...
that setup should take care of the fact that it sinks due to the heavire shaft, in terms of accuracy, it should be lso accurate as it is not over nor underpowered.... try emailing rob or jeremy from rob allen, extremely helpful guys, and always answer emails timely....

Hiya
With a gun that long, barrel flex will definitely be an issue. I've got a 150cm RA Carbon Vecta that shoots a 7mm and 7.5mm spear with 2x16mm bands. Its accurate and has sufficient power. Try the RA 7.5mm spear. The added weight will make the gun sink with a spear in, as well as offer more hitting power. I don't have any experience with a railgun that long, so i really can't help much, but only to offer suggestions. If you're targetting smaller species, like pelagics under 10kg's, try the RA 6.6mm spear with your 18mm band. You'll be surprised at the results. Regards miles
