hi all
please can anyone tell me if the omer add on rail will fit onto a beuchat carbon competion.I have changed the sling to a g20 and put a rockwell 6.75 spear. I know everyone uses jbl rails, but it is a problem for me to get here. Thx |

it should fit yes, but you have to remove the current shaft guide on your barrel if there is one..
i like th eomer stick on rails better than the integrated ones, the stick ons are much less noisy and dont get scratched

I will try a dynema wishbone soon as I think a lot of the sound is really from that. I can say though, without doubt: guides are very accurate! I would never shoot another band gun without one.

Lift the rail up a bit with some layers of tape along the barrel maybe? Just an idea.

I allways hit the target with my 1m. On my 1,10m I worked down the muzzle and handle a bit with a file, looks better ![]() |

What Ulysses said.
The spear might only make contact halfway down the tube and there would still be a sag in the spear. The Beuchat triggers have one of the highest elevated spears. I hand make rails but a bit labor intensive.

That might do it, I can't see any obvious reason why it shouldn't. What I would do is to use a few small spacers (like bits of a match?) to stop it sagging while it set and some masking tape on the barrel to keep it clean. You would have a little time to play around with it to make sure it was all straight before it set but you would have to make sure it didn't move afterwards

What size is the Beuchat Mundial Comp are we talking about anyway? If it's 100cm or less I wouldn't bother to put on a rail that does not fit without laborious modification (for one removing the 3M tape from the Omer rail will be quite a task) that may or may not work.
When asked about any modification he did on his spearguns - needless to say all Beuchat - 3 times world champion Pedro Carbonell once said that he only removes the shaft guide, the gun butt and glues the safety in 'fire' position. From my experience the gun is deadly accurate without a full length rail, provided that you do NOT use the original Beuchat shafts (flopper does not close properly without some tuning) BUT Seatec Top Extreme shafts with the lowest profile floppers on the market. The last time thees stick on rails were discussed I got shot down in flames for saying "I found them quite difficult to fit perfectly straight" but I did!

I can can see why omer went for a rail that sticks on instantly but I would still prefer an overnight type glue for that reason. I have pulled one off and started again but I do find it a bit dodgy. Now I just do epoxy rails on carbon like this:
Rons Sea Corner Which is of no help to phuket freediver sorry. Again I agree with Ulysses, if its only a 100cm they hardly have any sag anyway. The Nz team do the same no gun butt,no saftey, no muzzle bungy and no shft guide on shorter guns at least.

Interesting. Why not muzzle bungee? I notice the Rob Allen FAQ mentions that using mono means that it is not necessary, yet they fit them to most of the guns.
