Norway, Hitra

Hallo

I am relatively experienced hunter/freediver, will go for spearfishing to Norway (Hitra island, near Trondhame) from 8.08-18.08.

Will be glad to have a companion for spearfishing, if anyone interested, welcome.

Re: Norway, Hitra

HI black hawk,

What you mean by deep diving, sounds like scuba diving for me. As for Norway spearfishing I was hunting mostly on 10-15m.
And about fish, in Norway you can meet all kind of fish you want - pollock, cod, angel fish, flatfish, stingray and others not speaking about shells and crabs.

Hi, atomichaggis, I am not from Norway and so I dont speak norway language. You probably want to compain (as I see word - forbudt) about catching a lobster. It happened just once during my first visit and unfortunately I did not know its prohibited to catch.

Regards

Re: Norway, Hitra

I'm not from norway Myself and My Norwegian is awful

just pointing out its illegal to collect lobsters when diving... They are the only shellfish that you can't take tho.
it is OK to take things like edible crabs and squat lobsters. Norwegian authorities can give you a severe kick in the nuts if they catch you.

Re: Norway, Hitra

Nice video and nice lobster you got there mate. I do have one thing to say though, no offense but why do you destroy the structures you hunt from. That rock you rolled away probably did quite a bit of damage even though it mite be small, what if everybody did that, there wont be any anemones or crustacians left...
But hey just something Ive been taught over the years use it or dont

Re: Norway, Hitra

I held a falling rock once... could have set a variable ballast record!

Re: Norway, Hitra

deep thinker,
moving 1 rock during 2 weeks is not a problem, waves do more. Remember diving spots for scuba diving, what they do with their fins and boats (i.e. egypt)

Also this topic is outdated, I am back from Hitra already.

True Ill agree with you there, the waves part

"Remember diving spots for scuba diving, what they do with their fins and boats (i.e. egypt)"

My point exactly what if that was the case everywhere...

But hey enough about that, I just needed to point out the negative aspects of moving things around underwater as alot of people dont think about it at all and then we get what we have in egypt as you put it.
Glad to see you had a good time though
