Hallandale Beach Florida

Ive heard there are reefs not too far from shore on Hallandale Beach Florida. Do you think it would be possible to access them from a small zodiac launched off the beach? I have no experience spearing in Hallandale what are the conditions?

You can use a zac or you can just KISS and jump in and kick out...Most of Hollywood/Dania has the primary reef about 500yds from shore, which is good, but its taxed quite a bit, if you decide to kick out use a boogyboard set-up and you can ride the surf back in, also fly the flag boat traffic is pretty continous in that area, if you zac just get there early usually cops/lifeguards are lenient in the early morning...I would suggest if you have a zac to hit Haulover you have to go out about a mile before hitting the primary reef, but it has mofish and bigems...look into the Miami section quite a few guys hunt that area

Yeah I usually do all my spearing in Miami but I figured id try something new since the apartment I will be staying in is on the water I would atempt a beach dive.
Now that I have heard about the boating traffic I dont think it is a very good idea anymore.

About the same applies but if not mistaken its a few more "kicks" out...quite a few good numbers in pompano if you have a boat...BTW welcome to DB

You can't launch a motorized zodiac from the beach.... unless you want a nice ticket...

to the ltr of the law you are correct, but you can launch and paddle then rip it open, I'll add I for many moons launched a hybrid ghenoe from Miami Beach early in the morning and never had a problema...not to say its legal, but its been my experience early in the morning on the down'lo its pretty kosher...just like all the BS I have heard of in Dania, yet I've never encountered a problem...maybe its more important the attitude/entrance than the actual manifestation of the law...my 2 centavos.

Yeah I've done shoredives off Hollywood Beach where no spearguns are allowed. Get there early and make an incognito exit..

On a similar note a buddy of mine was close to shore when his motor died he tried to get it going but the waves pushed him into shore. Before he hit the beach cops were there..ticket already filled out
