IV DIVE Games & Indoor Apnea AIDA BRASIL 2007

The DIVE GAMES is already famous at the south of Brazil…It is a scuba competition brilliantly created by the diving school PLANETA MERGULHO, located at Porto Alegre – Brazil.

On its fourth edition something different was organized. In this year's competition the scuba teams gathered together with freedivers athletes from many Brazilian states and from Argentina to dispute many different tests. The breath-holding championship(with guest's) was made together with AIDA Brazil, in accordance to the international safety rules.

Because of the reunion between scuba divers and freedivers this year's competition was called IV DIVE GAMES & AIDA BRAZIL FREEDIVING INDOOR 2007.

The highlight of the event was, without any doubts, the underwater friendship made by all kinds of divers in a whole weekend full of good memories.

2º PLACE: NARCOSADOS WITH 120 POINTS - Scuba divers: FERNANDO WENDELSTEIN CANO and AUGUSTO MARQUES RAMOS
3º PLACE: INDOOR WITH 120 POINTS (decided by drawing) -
Scuba divers: Flávia DALLA SANTA and FABIANE TISKIEVICZ

APNEA (AIDA DISCIPLINES):

“To know our limits is very important because freediving is a different activity. We are not on our natural environment. It is not like a soccer game or like long marathons were we can stop and rest. It is a shot, the freediver comes in and has to come out, he cannot stop in the middle until he reaches back the surface. In this middle time nothing can come wrong. The dive demands knowledge, discipline and physical training... I could feel the games, the fun and the competition, participating both as a collaborator and an athlete. Once again I could share and have fun wile diving. Socialize, review, recognize and grow once more. But I also had to work. My duty was to care for the health of the athletes. For that we had at our hands an emergency unit with advanced support on the competition site, ready to transfer anyone to another high caring complex. We have all to be congratulated: divers, AIDA judges and organizers (Planet Dive and Aida Brazil).” Doctor. Augusto Marques Ramos

* 1 Pan American Record in Dynamic No Fins - donne by Agustin Di Francisco from Argentina

* 3 South American Records in Dynamic No Fins (87 and 100m) and Dynamic with fins (131m) - donne by Karol Meyer from Brazil

* 2 National Records in Dynamic No Fins (103m) and Dynamic With Fins (142m) donne by Ricardo Bahia from Brazil

* 1 National Record in Dynamic with Fins (150m) donne by Agustin Di Francisco from Argentina

* 3 Brazilian States Records: Static Apnea (4'33") donne by Flavia Dalla Santa for RS, Dynamic with and without fins (113m and 79m) for SP.
