Dear freedivers,
I am happy to anounce 4-th SLOVENIAN OPEN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP »SLO OPEN«. It is going to take place from 17-18-th of May 2008 in olympic swiming pool in Kranj (Slovenia). We expect all the best Slovenian freedivers along with guests from abroad. We expect great competition and maybe the first »200« in dynamic for Slovenia.
Championship disciplines:
• static apnea (STA),
• dynamic apnea with fins (DYF)
• dynamic apnea without fins (DNF).
Competition rules: according to AIDA international rules 11.2.
Apply to: freediveopen@gmail.com, mobile +386 51 347 990 (Ales). Final date to apply and announce performance in all disciplines is May 12. Maximum number of competitors is 40.

It was very nice competition. That's our conclusion of the Czech team .

Thank you Czech team. It was a previlege to have you in Kranj. How is your forhead? It is you who crushed into the wall, arent you? Everybody is still talking about your spectacular dive.

Sounds like a great competition. Were there no static performances under 5 minutes? Pretty impressive!

There were not so many competitors, but performances were good. Jarmila broke Czech NR in DNF (135m).

Yes that's me :-). My head is OK. I regret that I was not able to stay my mouth over the watter. The line was jast little bit flexible. I will take more care for the next tiem :-). Otherwise threre would be two Czech national DYN records .-).

It is a pity. Next time we'll prepare extra strong lines for Czech dolphines. It was still a strong dive.

Michal, congratulation on the impresive DNF.... A massive crash to the wall of the swimming pool at the very start and still 140m - that is crazy.
I think the competition has great potential - it is close to many strong freediving countrys - Slovakia, Checz Republik, Hungary, Croatia so hopefully next year we will see more competitors.
But even so there were many strong results - of course Jarmila's. And four statics over 6 minutes. With some luck there could have been three man's DNF over 130 meter's, four DYN over 160 meters.
It was nice to be a part of this event.
