It may just be the only product anyone will ever need!

I've tried this with my 5mil suit - it can be done but is pretty rough on the suit. If you are talking about putting the suit on in the water - it's currently about 4c.

So far I have only used a tiny bit -- you can dilute it a lot (maybe 50:1?), so it lasts forever...unfortunately . |

I plan on using it on my first smooth skin so I'm probly go with 50/50 to make sure I don't blow out the suit the first time out! I've decide to go with Mane n tail because I can find that with no problem where I live! They have it at Wally world and I drive right by a PetSmart when I go to work and they carry it aswell

Don't over do it ...I did first time & started foaming!
It is also harder to clean out of the suit. Experiment. By all means go careful at first. I highly recommend reading the instructions* for donning & doffing a spearo wetsuit on the Eliossub wetsuit site -- it might save you a nasty tear, injury or suffocation!![]() *Harder to find that I expected: http://www.eliossub.com/html/en_vestizione.html Head first, then lift up not down! This is my first smooth skin, I own and use a number of Picasso suits so this isn't my first opencell suit. I tried to find the instruction on Eliossub webpage but can not find it now. I plan on mixing it in a spray bottle so I can control how much I spray on the suit. I just heard horror stories that I would like to avoid!

I just added the link above -- had to use google to track it down...they prob. lost the link from the site
. I use a spray bottle too -- but, even if you add hot water out of a flask -- it goes on cold because of the atomizing effect of the spray (I believe this is how refridgerators cool). Its good enough though. I usually pour some warm (not hot) lube down the arms, legs first & hood first. Sprays are a bit too fine & cold -- pouring from a bottle is wasteful & can be too hot. Something in between might be better. I am wondering if a squirty bottle (like the old washing up liquid bottles) might work better than the spray?I notice women (esp. older ladys) often stop when I start lubing up...and they go on about dirty old men! ![]() |

LOL I just get weird looks from the RedNecks when I start putting on my suit. When I start pulling on the suit over my head I think I can hear a Banjo playing and get real scared!! LOL

Looking at the Elliossub webpage I've been putting my suit on wrong. I getting the arm part all wrong and i think I've been stressing my suit to much when putting on hood. I need work on that or my smooth skin won't have very long life!
Yeah those look like the guys I see. I work with a lot of those types and they know I do this strange freediving stuff but say nothing about lubing up my suit to get one. LOL

By the way, I read some other technique yesterday where they advocate getting both hands fully in the sleeves first. The Elios technique works though so I'll stick with it. Last edited by Mr. X; February 4th, 2006 at 23:56. |
