Let's have some fun,
Who do you thing will be the first freediver to reach 90m (10 atmosphere) in the pure discipline Constant Weight without fins, with AIDA judges that don’t make any mistakes ;-) /B |

I see two main contestant for this record, Martin and Trubridge... I wot for the last one because I have impressions that Martin is not that much in CNF and William is. So alto I think Martin is a bit bather at this point William Trubridge will be the first one... Well that's just what I think, I a am really bad at predictions

Will Trubridge has already dived 85m in training with a good SP, and 87m with a bad samba / failed SP. But whether he or Martin or William Winram hit the milestone first, there is no way to tell....

I don't think we will see a jump of 7-8m in one attempt in this discipline anymore.
I expect when Martin does some specific training he will do something like 85-86m. William already has a very nice technique, better than Martin's, but has other personal limitits to overcome. So I expect that in CWNF will creep forward, but not JUMP forward. But perhabs Dave Mullins can stir this up! Is there already thread about who's going to win the WC in CW and CWNF? Who's participating? I am for one. Love, Courage and Water! Kars

Just to be different I will say Sebastien Murat. Although I've no idea if he even plans to dive deep anymore.
Other than that, I vote for the man with the 14L lungs All the while secretly hoping it's Martin, just because of the recent events...

William Winram:
- the first man to dive the arch unassisted - the man with the best propulsion technique - the first man at 90m... and if things go well the first at 100m ![]() Pat

I went with Dave. He did a 175m DNF in a 33m pool with decent, but not great, technique (sorry Dave!) and can equalise to at least 100m (in warm water, anyway). Will and Will are both excellent divers, but this is their number one discipline. That means that all the easy gains are gone, its all hard work from here on in for a metre or two. For Dave, the technique work will still make big differences to his distances, there are still easy gains to be made.

![]() Be honest now Chris, my nofins technique sucks! I suspect the technique Will and Will have takes a long time to develop, I certainly don't think I'll be challenging them any time soon. It's all very well swimming slowly up and down a pool but you need some serious upper body strength to get back up from 90m, and I don't have that. Very hard to pick between Will, Will and Martin. I'd have to go with Martin though, judging by that 83m dive. Dodgy technique, no specific training.... and still looked pretty easy. |

I agree that the technique would take time to develop, but judging my your choice, you'd agree that technique improvements are likely to yield bigger/faster improvements. I suppose my pick is pretty much dependent on you WANTING to dedicate your trainings to no fins... Probably not that likely! |

Interesting that such a small number votes on Herbert Nitsch.
After all, he is the deepest one in CWT and has the wider margin to lean on here. ...and Martin will not compete at WC in Sharm, DEMA is higher up on his list. /B (ps. this is the last time AIDA WC will be at the same time as DEMA) |
