G'day guys,
My names Sam and I live in Melbourne, Australia and I've been free diving for about a year with a paraplegic mate of mine. Awhile ago I made a joke that he must be the best paraplegic freediver in the world, because he is the only one. I may be wrong, but it gave me the idea that maybe there should be a para-freediving devision. I've contacted the AIDA and they are currently considering the possibility of a para-freediving division, like the para-Olympics. I'm told that they may have already tried to implement something like this in the past, but I have not talked to them directly. Ben Noble has also offered his help as an AIDA judge and AIDA Australia member (not sure on his position within AIDA Aus.) with any luck AIDA will be able to work something out and there will be a para-freediving devision. Bringing AIDA one step closer to Olympic standards. I decided to post here to see if anyone here had an experience in this area and had some suggestions for ways to make it work. Or just any ideas. Anyone wanting to have a look at the AIDA thread: Paraplegic Freediving - AIDA International Cheers, Sam.
