Hi all,
I am looking to buy some good starter freediving fins size 7/8 US. Looking for another set of fins after I tried out the 2000HF which were a bit stiff. Last edited by spriggan; September 8th, 2006 at 13:35. |

Got'em right here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a pair of Omer 40-42 with C4 Falcon 30 blades in excellent condition that I never use. I will sell them for only $300 plus $10 shipping to Cali. Jim |

hey thanx all for the offers, but those fins are way to pricey for me(on a budget
). I believe I have found some good fins (Cressi Gara 2000HF) at Leisurepro.com, are these stiff fins? I consider myself to have pretty strong legs as I do run alot. Thanks, spriggan |

OK the 2000HF are kind of stiff for me so I am gonna need something softer than this. Anyone know where I can buy the Cressi Gara 3000(not LD) for around $100? Are the 3000 stiffer than the 2000HF? I might be thinking about the LD as well but also think that might be too soft.

I also suggest Sporasub H Dessault fins. They're a good, basic fin, the blades are soft and interchangeable, and they're reasonably priced. You can find them in the Deeperblue store. Make sure you confirm which size you need, because you'll need to wear socks in California waters, plus the footpockets are quite stiff. Good luck

Hope this helps, I went throught this research about six weeks ago myself. If all else fails, try e-mailing the scubastore directly. I exchanged a bunch of times with a fellow named Eduard who was very helpful and pateint. Here are the links: http://www.scubastore.com/product.as...hbx=subfamilia And: http://www.scubastore.com/product.as...hbx=subfamilia From what everyone has told me, go with the softer LD's. ALso, like me, you are in California where the water is pretty cold (mid to low 50's), so it owuld seem like the blades will be a bit stiffer than what someone in a warmer cline would experience. Gotta sign off now, I'm doing the last part of a table during my lunch hour at work, and I don't want to write anything that really doesn't make sense

A lot of good info in here. I am currently in the market for a pair of freediving fins and was wondering if you guys think a pair of 46-48s would be a good fit for someone who normally wears size 11.5-12 shoes with 3mm fin socks. I know the best way to find out is to try a pair on, but if anyone can give me a rough estimate based on experience i would appreciate it.

That sounds like a good estimate, maybe 44-46 would fit if your feet are not too wide.
Not all foot pockets are the same, some are kind of wider than others.
