In bad need of riffe shaft dimensions

Hey all,
Im stuck at school with no access to any of my spear shafts and I have to design a trigger mechanism as part of an engineering final project. Im trying to make it accomodate all riffe/wong shafts 9/32", 5/16", and 3/8."

Without access to the shafts I have been unable to get the necessary notch dimensions so that i can design the sear for the mechanism. So if anyone has a free moment, if you would please provide all pertinent dimensions on the notches of those three shafts I would be really grateful. I promise to post pictures when im done, which will be soon because its due in a week.
Thank you,
Chris

Re: In bad need of riffe shaft dimensions

Please anyone,
If only just the 3/8" riffe or wong shaft. I just really need the dimensions of the trigger notch and flat section on the opposing side.

Re: In bad need of riffe shaft dimensions

here you go: the flat portion on the top of the shaft is .750 long and .260 thick when measured from bottom to the top of the shaft. the notch on the bottom is .370 long and it starts at .210 from the back of the shaft. notch to the top of the flat spot is .120 thick. these are the dimensions of a mori 5/16'' (.312) but they all should be about the same.

hope you get a good grade.

Re: In bad need of riffe shaft dimensions

Thank you very much man. Ill post some pictures next week so you can see what im up to. Its basically a preliminary design, materials and manufacturing selected for a trigger mech that will hopefully combine all the best aspects of those currently on the market. Right now my only prob is designing a sear which can fit all three diameter shafts, may have to scrap 9/32," and im having some trouble getting the mechanical advantage way down for the trigger pull. Im designing it for a 1200lb critical load. Alright two shafts down, all i need now is a 3/8" shaft......

Re: In bad need of riffe shaft dimensions

the dimensions i gave you are the same for shaft ranging from 1/4, 9/32, 5/16, 11/32 and 3/8. the 3/8 shaft and i think the 11/32 are cut down to 5/16 around the shank to fit in the mech, so in theory all mechs accept all shaft diameters.
