Jbl Mini!

I was thinking about getting a jbl mini carbine.... 27" overall, 22" shaft, single band... just to use around docks to spear mullet and mangro snapper around docks and in some bayous

If you own one of these guns or are familiar with their capabilities please share the knowledge.

If you arent familiar with the guns, then tell me what you think from this JBL Spear Gun 27 inch Mini Carbine Speargun: at JoeDiverAmerica.com

Pannystyle:

I use two vintage Healthways, very similar to the JBL mini D-5 & D-6. One os a single band the other is a double. Both are very reliable for small to medium fish. Mine date to early 70's and still use them with band replacements as needed (usually get brittle from lack of use). Check on ebay for some at what seem to be reasonable prices. When we're there in PC in two weeks call & you can look at my guns if that'll help.

Re: Jbl Mini!

I have personally never been a big fan of JBL. Ive had the mini carbide and the woody magnum and I found that the triggers and over all gun was mediocre at best.

If you do choose to get this gun Id recommend getting a shaft w/ a tahitian flopper rather than the threaded shaft and spear tip. Those tips tear pretty nasty holes in small fish.
