Indeed, most likely do to the different demographics and diving environments. I can't imagine having used a mid handle in the mediterranean a few months ago, a eurogun was perfect! I have quite a few guns and each represents a slightly unique setup for different conditions of which only two are mid handles. Different strokes for different folks, and I am a proud eurogun fan for the diving here in south FLA.

Jim,
I can see how my post came across as a put down of the guy's excitement over a Rob Allen. That was not my intent at all. It was a very weak attempt at at joke focused on "A Woodie." I can see that my future in comedy is very limited, and I better stick to my day job (if I can get one).

Looks interesting. Sounds like a Foxfish project - I believe he has plans for a wooden gun with Rabitech handle. Can't help thinking carbon would be easier to live with though.

My rob allen is awesome. The lakes of central wisconsin are no match for her speed, power, and dead accurarcy. I havent used it in wisconsin yet, but several of my buddies who have who are relatively new have shot fish straight through the eye sockets on multiple occasions. Thats accuracy.

TEST UPDATE TEST UPDATE TEST UPDATE
The Signature woodie RA gun delivered accuracy like never before. ![]() I’ve been using RA guns for the past 2 years religiously, no matter how many guns I buy, I have to go back to my RA. BUT THIS ONE TAKES THE CAKE….SERIOUSLY. ![]() I doubled wrapped it, with 2 x 16 mm RA bands, 6.75 RA Spear but I made a minor adjustment to the Muzzle. I replaced the original enclosed muzzle with a Pelaj open muzzle…….I hope this is not taken the wrong way but the Pelaj open muzzle is a dream come true.It facilitates loading the spear as it has a deeper etch than other open muzzles; it is easier to hold on to the spear while rigging the line…..you can almost say it acts like a closed muzzle….with the open muzzle advantage. The fact that the barrel is made of wood made the gun very stable with almost ZERO recoil thus the superior accuracy added to the already known accuracy of the RA……I highly recommend Rob to look in to producing a signature line with wooden barrels….and why not….there are already Aluminum & Carbon barrels and wood seems to be catching up….at least in style. ![]() Cheers, Ihab |
