Job Title: Marketing Assistant
Reporting to: Marketing & Media Project Manager Introduction: A job has arisen within the PIL Marketing dept, located in Bristol for a willing, enthusiastic self-starter who would like to gain experience in a very hands-on marketing environment. The role will encompass communications with a variety of PIL’s internal and external customers, diving and non-diving public, and the media. Main duties will include: • Helping with administrating on-going promotions including PIL generated activities, and co-ordinating with external promotions companies, manufacturers and other industry stakeholders. • Recording and reporting metrics gathered to assess promotional activity. • Assist in responding to requests for information and statistical data from Members, Divers and the media. Maintaining PIL’s in-house statistical information and responding to requests from PIL staff. • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Sales & Marketing section of the PADI Pro site and the Around the Globe News page of padi.com. • Maintain relationships with PIL press contacts and develop consistent communication with them. This will include updating and circulating existing articles, writing new ones where necessary and maintaining a record. • Assist in the development and implementation of product related promotions. • Keep the Marketing Dept magazine library up to date. • Assist in the administrative support of PIL’s external PR Consultant. • Respond to requests for PADI logos and images to print houses, media, PADI members and internal PIL Departments. • Provide backup support in dive show organisation and administration, and other events as necessary. • Provide creative services cover as required, in terms of developing adverts and other marketing materials, and HTML mailing creation. Education & Experience: A marketing background would be an advantage however there will be plenty of opportunities for the right candidate to gain valuable marketing experience. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral are essential, and you should have good organisational skills combined with the ability to develop and maintain good relations with external & internal customers and contacts. This will be backed up with confident IT skills plus the ability to work to deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail. This is a great opportunity for an individual wishing to commence a marketing career as it will be a varied and involved role. Other Requirements: • Professional attitude • Good telephone manner • PC literate with good knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
