Hello, I am looking for spearfishing buddy to do spearfishing trips to mediterranean. Nearest location for me is Adriatic see in croatia, and greece, but I would like to go enywhere in Mediterranean and possible also in other see :-)

I am 35 year old, living in Bratislava in Slovakia (near to Wien in Austria).

Average temperature of sea in croatia (january, february, march, .... december) in Celsius scale.

For me, 16 degrees (Celsius) is still good with 5mm nephren with hood, socks and gloves.

Was in Brac this weekend. No shooting or diving. Just snorkeling. Water temp was good.

Don't have any of my stuff from the states yet but can rent or borrow.

Here are my plans on spring:
1. I plan trip to Peljesac (Croatia) on 30.march-9.april or 5.april-15.april 2007, depending on weather or your preference.

2. Next trip I plan on 27.april-8.may 2007.

First day I understand as arrival at evening or night, last day I uderstand as departure day on midday.
Apartments are directly on shore.

I know the thread is outdated, but I hope you enjoyed your stay there, and if you are still in Sarajevo, I hope that you are having great time.

I guess you not planning to spearfish in rivers right? i doubt that you can spear anything in the rivers drina, buna, neretva or bosna, and neum is overpopulated... So the best option would be in the area around makarska in croatia. There u have a lot of rocky bays and caves etc... (u can easily reach it by taking the early morning train from sarajevo till metkovic station on the border, and then from there u can easily get a bus till makarska (it's like 2hr bus driving). Dubrovnik area is also great, but it's much more expensive to stay there than Makarska or Sibenik, ploce or those other places in the dalmatian place. Also note that u have a pay tax for spearfishing or something like that (not sure if it changed, but i never did and risked it all the time )


I'm going to Sarajevo this summer as usual and I usually stay in the dalmatian coast for some 2weeks... But this summer i guess ill spend a great deal in montenegro. If u still there or still interested, then we can do something.

Grass, I will be around the dalmatian coast the 1st week of august, and ill go around also in montenegro as well, in herceg novi, boka kotorska region and maybe even budva....

As for spearing, Im bit reluctant of buying a license for spearing in croatia... :P... dont know how other croatian spearos are doing concerning that... As for crna gora, I don't know if a license is required or not...

No, I'm not local. And last year I was diving in Cres which had a beautiful costs but saw almost no fish. I heard about the license the day I left the country from a guy who let me use his boat.
He asked me after giving me boat for a week - "BTW do you have license to spearfish"? I said no and he goes like "ok just be careful about what you bring back".
As I understand there is no problem diving from the coast, if you rent a boat the sea police may come close and check your license.

Its a pity you go there in August my visit is in Jul.
