    Hello
I am located in Davenport (Quadcities) Iowa and am looking to make friends/aquantinces to hitch up with a couple times a year for lake dives in the area as well as perhaps some group trips to ocean hunt. Where are you located? I will be heading to RI last week of August to hunt with a buddy who lives in at Westerly, RI. We chase strippers, flounder, tatoug and by night we surf fish for strippers and bluefish. If anyone else is interested Tim and I would be more then happy to have you join us. I am also planning to head to FL next May to enter a contest and hope beginers luck will guide me to victory LOL. I am planning to head up to a quarry near Chicago with Scuba Adventures on June 28-29 just to get in the water unless a better offer comesw up for that weekend.

I would go for the .223, tons of cheap amo, shoot all day with low recoil, and even .22LR conversion kits that are a blast.

After some Dives with Connor and then a cut on my hand I had to lay low for a while to let my cut heal up. So I've stayed pretty dry. I spent a couple of days just relaxing at my parents, then yesterday (Thursday the 31st) I came to Ft Lauderdale. I had to pick Jeremy (Wreckrunner) up from the airport. We went to his buddies house and ran some errands to get ready for a night dive on scuba to see if we could locate a lobster or two. While waiting we spent about 45min in his friends pool and...

Well, it's family vacation time and what do you know, FIT Level III falls right in the middle of it. So we head to my parents house in the Sarasota Area first. The day after we arrive I have plans made to dive out of Clearwater FL. There are 5 of us headed out and I thought I felt fairly good. We were headed out 15 miles to a site when we sau a smaller sailfish cruising on the surface. That was a first for me and the rest of the guys thought it very unusual.

At the first site...

Back in the water, what a good feeling. Jon Whopperhead and I headed out in Whopperhead's boat Saturday morning. Our goal was to get some line dives in. The water had a good chop to it, so we found a protected area to park and get our wetsuits on. We hopped in the water in an area that was only 7 feet deep. There were no fish in the area or anything. So we piled back in the boat and moved out to the point near by.

We got back in the water and setup a line in about 47' of water....

Safety is always at the top of my list with diving in general. When I started "freediving" I knew I had to learn the right way. I really consider most of what I do in fresh water to be snorkeling, since I'm rarely below 10' and the dangers were minimal. But I wanted to go deeper.

Many years ago I saw a program on TV. This guy wants to set a world record freediving on this sled contraption. He needed safety divers, so he went to a scuba club, but they did not jump at the...

Day two we went straight to the pool. First thing we did was a good warm-up in the deep end. Then we moved over to a shallow section to do more statics. We did a few easy holds as the day before, but built up a little faster this time. My third hold felt great, but I wanted to save myself for my final hold. I think I should have kept going on that attempt, in hind sight I felt better on that attempt than the following. So the fourth hold I get a nice long breath up, get relaxed and settle in to...
