- I started diving in 1971 & trying to learn about free diving techniques around the same time, became a SCUBA Instr. in 1976. Grew up in Ft. Lauderdale obsessed about diving and ocean projects. Worked in coral reef, mar. geology, archaeology, fishery surveys & enhancement, UW Imaging and light ocean engineering for about 15 years. Did a trimix course in 1991, eased out of diving into kiteboarding for about 9 years and now am heading back into free diving again. Things have changed with a rebirth of free diving it seems. Nice forum.
