Re: Leaderfins

From what they told me the footpockets of the "professional" are hand-made and far superiour.

I was also told the "professional" uses neopren rubber and has positive bouyance.

I haven't used either of them.

I just orderd my "wings" so I'll be able to tell you about the general build quality in a while.

Re: Leaderfins

Hi Fredrik,

I tried both of monofins.

Hiper PRO living time maximum 2 years and not in the open water. Handmade footpockets softer and convenient than at simple Hiper. And neopren into wings not for deep dives.

Hiper on my opinion at it very wide footpocket in fingers area and narrower on rise. Just yesterday compared this one with my specialfins Dolphin and has come to conclusion, that Dolphin it is more convenient (hardness and the sizes identical)

BR
sorry for my english

Re: Leaderfins

So i should not buy the Hyper Professional then.

I heard that the Hyper footpockets that are not hand made does not have as good finish?

Can i use neoprene socks in the fins and how is the sizing?

I do not want very small footpockets used only for few minutes sprint finswimming.

I would love to try and see how they feel with different thickness of neoprene socks and see what fits my narrow size European male 42,5 feet best. Foot lenght from heel to toe is 27.5cm

Re: Leaderfins

I have a Hyper and it is indeed pretty industrial looking. The Pro has a much nicer finish and the footpockets fit better.

Despite the slightly dodgy construction, if I get another it will probably be the same. When it comes down to it CW is the only discipline I really care about and I'm not willing to ascend with a compressed mono no matter how pretty or comfy it is.

Ideally, I'd get Leaderfins to make a mono with incompressible rubber wings and custom footpockets, with the same care they take with the Pro version. Not sure why that would be so hard for them to do.

As an aside, Leaderfins haven't put enough angle on the blade for my liking. With straight legs the blade is still about 20 degrees away from being streamlined. I think a few more degrees would help, although it would demand good technique and a flexible back.

Re: Leaderfins

I found a photo which I made when have tested Hyper Pro. Pay attention to a place of the joint a wing and a footpocket.

i've been contacting ivan since before the holidays trying to get a "wings".. i've left him a voicemail message and i got one email from him saying that he doesnt know if they would work during the holidays and he'll let me know.

well that was weeks ago. still no new word.

i went ahead and ordered it through their website and i'm STILL waiting for the invoice to tell me how/who to pay.

how did you finally get a hold of someone and how did you pay for the fin?

i'm REALLY starting to get impatient and annoyed with the lack of response i've received trying to buy a fin.

Hi, I don't know who Ivan is. I just send a mail some weeks ago to info@leaderfins.com and Maksim from Leaderfins always answered me within 24 hours. If it was during bussinesshours I even got an answer within 30 min. After getting the answers I needed I ordered through email and they send me the invoice in attachment. I paided through the european IBAN/BIC system, so there are no extra wiretransfer costs.

I am guessing you mean the US importer, I wouldn't know how that works. I just ordered within the EU directly from leaderfins. They are very communicative.

Re: Leaderfins

before i decided on a leaderfin i was emailing Ivan here *asturven*..

i went through the website after i gave up trying to get anything from a rep and here i am.

not to derail the machine but GOD this money is burning a hole in my pocket!

i got the email after i made the order through the website and then NOTHING.

that was 27 dec.. i last spoke to ivan a while before that.

even from leaderfin i've heard NOTHING.

barring my personal information this was the email i got from them and then nothing else:

Thank you for your order. Below is a confirmation of the recent order
you placed with us.

We will send for you the invoice for payment during few days.

Please review the information and verify that everything is correct.

If any modifications are necessary, please, contact with us by email
info@leaderfins.com.

i was waiting for the lederfin rep here in the US.. i had questions about what foot pocket size i should get (i'm in between sizes).. i wanted to know about the blade protection and the logo i want.. once again NOTHING.

i've said what i had to say.. glad you had a good experience quickly.

personally i haven't

that's how i feel
