Question New Monofin Design

I saw this pic on Shark Freediving looks like an interesting concept and something not too difficult to make - the foot pocket part I mean. The blade would take a different set of skills. Anyone know who made this fin?

That's a Breier fin. They make all their mono and bi-fins either with such custom made pockets (see the measuring chart in the attachment), or with adjustable foot pockets, or with Immersion foot pockets.

Re: New Monofin Design

It is Breier, there is logo right at the edge of the fin. It's French.

Re: New Monofin Design

Thanks guys for the info.

Trux - from the PDF it looks as if these people have got quite a well thought out method of custom making foot pockets. I just wish I could read French.

Anyone had experience with these fins? Are they comfortable? Do they perform well? Are they preferred for DYN or CW?

Re: New Monofin Design

Tried Breier footpockets in the past and they felt very flimsy, uncomfortable and gave poor power transfer. They are quite light. Obviously, some people do like them.

Has anyone tried variations on the basic footpocket? What are they like?

Re: New Monofin Design

I stumbled over this URL :

specialfins.com

The Monofin 'Flyer' fin looks really cool, but this could just be because it happens to be using an Iowa Hawkeye color pattern of gold (yellow) and black. I also know looks can be deceiving.

Does anyone know anything about this monofin? I can't really even tell what brand it is, aside from the "Specialfins" web site name. Is this also the manufacturer, and if so, are they any good?

Re: New Monofin Design

davo there is a good bit of info on special fins and leader fins another brand , there are varios constuction materials used to make harder and softer blades as well as different types of footpockets in the equipment section thers is a section for monfins and you should find a lot of info through the search engine.
