Hi There,
I got a Finis Trainer 1 for Christmas and I am looking for advice on how to use it to train in a pool. Although I am a scuba instructor, I am not a free diver and just wanted the mono for core muscle training. Do the foot pockets loosen up with use? It is a large (8.5-10) and I am a 10. It's a bit of a struggle getting in so I am not sure if I should go a size up. If any one is a coach located in Los Angeles, I'd love to pay for a lesson! Thanks... |

depend on what you want to do, are you doing dynamic apnea, or finswimming on the surrface with a snorkel. Finis actually makes an instructional video, I think more for finswimming-heard it's not that usefull for freediving but might be fine for what you are looking to do. If dynamic is what you want there an article here in the taining section- also might look up the peter pederson 200m record video on youtube. Performance Freediving | home | teaches a course out of malibu if you want to take it that far

Thanks Monkey-
I guess I'll try surface swimming first with a snorkel- I am trying to do research on what center mount snorkel to use now. Freestyle or Swimmers? Just saw the Russian video of the competition with the tanks and regulators...maybe I just found another use for my pony tank...might as well make a complete dork or myself in the local public pool... |

I don't really do surface too much, but my sister and her husband are triathletes and they finswim with monos in thier training-dolphin kick and beast stroke, not realy good for freestyle. You may have already found them but it you enter monofin on youtube thier are hundreds of video both freediving and finswimming, good luck
