For those interested in footpocket angles here is some data from my current fins
Waterway Model 1or2 - 0 degrees Leaderfins Hyper - 11 degrees Waterway Glide - 16 degrees Hyperfins - 30 degrees

Interesting Andy. I think it's quite clear by feel between the Glide and the Hyperfin. And I think my old Kershkov had a touch more angle than the Hyperfin does, though it's a tiny difference.
So when am I going to be able to buy an Andyfin? Andynov?

what do you think would be the max, or optimal angle for a footpocket if you had control over it's design?

I think that depends on the individual. The main idea of the angle is so that in dynamic glide (or constant weight sink phase) you want to relax your legs and have the fin in the horizontal (or vertical for CW) position. Some people when they relax their legs have more angle in the knee than others. The angle in the monofin is there to compensate for this.
It seems that the higher angled fins are better for the majority. Cheers, Ben

Isn't everybody capable of keeping their legs straight? I reckon it might just be the lack of fin angle that causes people to 'relax' into a bent-legs posture.
That 30 degree angle on the hyper is great, I could even use just a littlebit more...

I'm currently using a waterway nemo hard, but since this is my new obsession I, naturally, want more. I'd like to get experienced opinions on footpockets, blade size etc. etc. (the nemo is very comfortable - six hour dives with a 10 minute rest between when its warm). I've been talking with leaderfins about their free flier. They suggested not changing footpockets. This would be primarily a recreational freediving fin.

I didn't have too much trouble - emailed the guy, he took a couple of days to email back then we conversed for about a week then I sent the money and within about 3 weeks I had a fin - supposed to take a week or 2 to make and about a week to send to the UK.

Apparently the lunocet is going to be user-adjustable. Would be interesting to see what angles people settled on given the chance to experiment and make their own adjustments.

the footage of the lunocet is really interesting. He seems to be working very hard given the effeciency claims of the design

This may be a dumb question, but if you want to change the angle of your foot pockets, couldn't you just order your foot pocket slightly larger than what you think you'd need, then build up the inside of the pocket? You could even do it in incremental layers, so you could figure out what the optimum angle would be for you (which I would assume would depend on the flexibility of your foot)?

unfortunately the size relates mostly to the length and not the height, otherwise it would be a good idea

OK - so width is definitely more important than length... I'll have to remember that one (although according to the pamphlet you left us under the windscreen wipers, I'm sure they said it was all about the length)!
 (sorry, I just couldn't resist)I must just have odd shaped feet then, cause I've got a block of minicell foam at home that I was going to carve up... I'll let you know how it goes. steff
