One week stay in O'ahu

Hi.

I'm planning to hop from Maui to O'ahu for just about a week.
Please, is there someone who could recommend me some nice (and cheap if possible) place to stay? Even as roommate.
I freedive and surf, so if the place is close to some nice spot - better.
Yo, and since I'm like beginer in surf - I definitelly don't need spot like Pipe.
