I recently got a seac Sub Asso 75 and decided to release all the air from it and pressurise it myself, the only problem being is I pump it for ages but it is not filling the gun with any air! So I was wondering if when I pump it am I supposed to push the pump handle all the way down with each pump even though there is a lot of resistance because I'm scared of breaking something.

Britney spearz, OOPS you did it again
the pump has to be threaded in the butt of the gun all the way, and when you pump, push all the way through gently, you should feel pumping take place and yes there will be resistance as you do this... if youre still uncomfortable, maybe take it back to the store and have them pump it for you so you know how its done... take care Britney

Well it turns out it was just that I had to push the pump handle all the way down
![]() It seems this gun came way too over pressurised as now after I pumped it to the recommended 20BAR pressure it's ten times easier to load than before. |

some asso pumps are bad designed and do not work
if the piece that inserts in the gun is plastic instead of metal it does not work ask for a new bomb with that piece in metal

It's quite normal to feel resistance. It's no problem until you don't overpressurize.
For the Asso 75 this is the equation: 20 bar: 275 pump strokes 15 bar: 210 strokes 10 bar: 155 strokes PS: the title of this thread, Pumping up the Asso, sounds a bit...how can I say...?...wasn't that a porn movie? Last edited by spaghetti; February 15th, 2008 at 20:27. |

Britney Spearz, Hi, how do you know you now have 20 Bar?, do you have a pressure guage?. Dont take the info from "Seacsub" as Gosple, I have a 130, & they told me to pump it to around 540 pump's for a pressure of 20 bar,(I had to contact them as the manual didn't even list the gun) Rubbish!. It took 1000 pump's to bring it to 20Bar (This is acurate as I used a pressure guage) I told them this & they said, "Oh, the figure we gave you was just a "round about" figure". I strongly suspect that they quote well on the conservative side, to make sure that poeple dont "over pressurise" their gun's. Incidentaly, I put in 1200 pump's to take it to 23 Bar unloaded, when loaded, the pressure increases to 24 Bar @ half power, & 26 Bar @ full power. Hope this info help's, ...... safe diveing...Geoff. PS. Remember, this info is for a Seacsub ASSO 130 only!, also I do not reccomend you pressurise it over this, as this pressure still give's you a "Safety margin" of 4 to 5 bar ( your gun, any ASSO, will fail at around 31 Bar) to take account of increased pressure, caused by the heat of the sun. or even a hot enviroment. One more comment, my pump was working properly, with no leak's.
