Re: after smoking

First stuck was 3:30 than i get 4:30, beat 5:00 was impossible me! but managed 5:01 and 5:11 but my best 5:01 ..every person has very dif ability but easily i can say for 5:00 is a big barier you must break or beat in your brain first ..breathold comes later...i believe i turned the first page but stuck at second page
Meanwhile lung capacity of Tom Sieatas just 6.8l ..he can hold 9+ or 10+
From jump 3:41 to 4:30 answer is to find out the right breathup cycle before big hold(4:30) ..

Re: after smoking

35 years old is not disadvantage..it is a advantage...cos' your circulutation gets slow ..this means...is advantage...anyway..long story and my english not enough to explain...
answer your question:
2 or 3 times hold 30sec...then..hold till first constraction and stop this will wake up diving reflex like saying to body ready..i ll hold a breath ..( your dive reflex kicked)....1min rest...2 min breathup..hold 2:00min/ 2:00min rest breathup 2:00min hold 3:00min/ then 4:00 rest 2:00 breathup and big hold as much as you can (4+) the trick is not to lost the diving reflex between breathup ...very important..try this but right answer is to find out what works for you...
i am absulatelly beginner and still searching breathing world and my body performance ..but this works on me above

Don't know for sure. I smoked for 28 years and quit 10 years ago.

A pharmacist that swims laps at the pool with me had a theory about my apnea abilities: smoking for all those years conditioned my lungs to get by on less oxygen and on higher level of carbon monoxide.

I don't know. If true, I do not recommend this as conditioning or training for apnea. Smoking is a hideous addiction.

Peace,
Glen
